Press Release Body = Not necessarily returning, but attempting to unload, dump and distance themselves from lobbyist Jack Abramoff who pleaded guilty to corruption charges and agreed to cooperate with a federal corruption investigation in Washington. "Gee, I've been caught, I'll give it to charity and all will be cool?" Does it take four or more years to realize you may have done something wrong, or, just the need to get caught? Yes, the Grinch has definitely stolen the jovial and festive "what about me" mentality of many in our nations capital this Christmas and 2006 New Year season. With signs it may get very, very foul and nasty before it gets better.
I personally, find it unconscionable that for many who have made lucrative and monetarily productive carriers off the backs of the taxpaying populace, respectively far too long, and being aliened and supported by the "Good Old Boy" network, that they were not cognizant of Abramoff's demeanor or his intentions. No, for many, they have now been caught elbow deep with their hands in the preverbal cookie jar. Self-indulgence, egocentricity and self-centeredness have at last caught up with many, including several elected officials within Missouri and as a hole our federal government seemingly is more corrupt now than ever before. Watch your television, the damage control has begun. Hay.election times a coming, got to paint on a pretty face and get those."I didn't know, I'm in awe" press statements in order.
We the People, are long over-due for a change; it's time for a "House" cleaning on the Hill in Washington. The lungs of this great nation need a full fresh breath to expel the stench of deceitfulness and corruption from our nostrils. We don't just need a change; we need a "MORAL" transformation in the "Peoples House." What we would not allow to transpire within our own homes, why o' why, would we accept with total obscurity within our governing bodies, and compensate them for it? The monies that are so freely being wasted, given away and stolen in Washington, are derived from the blood, sweat and tears of this nation and states laboring citizens and needs accounted for, every penny.
These elected individuals are employees in all aspect of the word for the People of this Nation, not, the other way around. You should expect, no, you should demand, honesty, dedication and trustworthiness of these state employees. Or, in my mind, they should be fired. Its time to yank some time cards and hand out some pink slips.
I personally, do not have corporate supporters or political action committees investing thousands if not millions of dollars toward my campaign. I would query anyone who needs that type of finance for a public office and what their long-range personal gain is, the Abramoff issue in retrospect. But, as a man who has had grease under his fingernails, felt the salty sting of sweat in his eyes, and who has suffered alone with physical disability and severe pain. I pledge to serve you with dignity and honor and be a genuine and trustworthy voice in 'The House of The People,' knowing and remembering the roots from which I came.
On behalf of a State and Nation worthy and deserving of more, I am announcing my candidacy for the 2006 election to the United States House of Representatives for the Fourth Congressional District of Missouri, my home. To represent the families, future and values of the 4th district and ensure moral values and principles within our government, yet again. I covet your prayers and support. May God bless this State and Nation.
"When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." -Thomas Jefferson
